Last day of swimming lessons

Abby also had her last day of swimming lessons today. She didn't pass. Actually the test was yesterday and Abby did fine on most of the skills, but failed miserably on the back glide. Abby freaks out on her back in the water, and when we tried to corporaly persuade her to lie down on her back with her hands above her head, she screamed bloody murder, instantly becoming the center of attention of the whole pool. That said, she did learn a lot this class, including blowing bubbles, plugging her nose to bob under the water, kicking, and front glides and floats. We are going to have to look into what the next step will be.

We had signed up for the earliest class, 9:45am, to allow me to get to work as early as possible. Turns out the early class is also the coldest class. Several of the mornings were overcast and breezy . . . and freezing. We developed an after-class routine that consits of drying Abby off, wrapping a towel around her, putting on a little swim robe, then putting on one of dad's old sweatshirts. Hence the vision you see above. Then, to top it off, hot chocolate from a thermos. The one time Jenna picked us up, she was greatly amused to see Abby waddling to the car in her warm-up gear.
