Neocon 2008

For the last year, I have been leading a team designing a table for Steelcase that enables nomadic, collaborative work that laptops have made possible.

The table, really a family of tables with three different heights and 20+ different table shapes, was unveiled to the world as Steelcase media:scape at the 2008 Necon furniture show in Chicago this year:

Go to the above web album for more information. Also:
  • IDEO's profile of the project.
  • Steelcase's press release on all the awards they won this year (media:scape won a Gold award)
  • This article from a local Michigan rag that has some decent photos (actually take in Steelcase's secret underground photo studio)
  • Nice quote from my client Lew in this WSJ bit.

That's is amazing. I LOVE it. I refuse to show it to Kevin, though. Otherwise I'm certain he will deem it necessary to buy a couple for our home needs.lol.

You rock Matt. I hope you love this job, becuase it clearly loves you.

Thanks Em. This was a very rewarding project for me, and the reception at the show was especially nice.
